The rack is very sturdy. It came with velcro straps to secure to the bike and the first trip to the store 5 pounds of produce put the rack on the tire because the straps failed to hold. I went to hardware store and picked up hose clamps and now it isn't going anywhere. I think I can put a bunch of weight on it if I choose. I ordered the attachable basket for the grocery trips and look forward to it. Says its for the rear but I have bad knees and it would be a pain to get up and over a basket in the back. We'll see.

Am happy with the product. Only wish they had a product to fit a 6 inch wide fork.
