Works! If you have an old tension downtube shifting bike this works! It does what it advertises. I used them on the front and rear and they both work. I don't like brifters and these let me not have to have brifters (which also weren't compatible with my old Suntour derailleurs);

These and the left hand (front derailleur) do the job. The Sram twist grip on my recumbent trike vertical handlebars are difficult to use and as Shimano or Microshift aren't available these are good substitutes. I can't say they are poor quality as I've just installed them and haven't yet had the trike out for a ride and they may last a long time. I've the Shimano bar ends on another bicycle and they have a heavier feel but at nearly 2x the cost. The front (not part of this review officially) were difficult to find the ratcheting function and awkward even to use the friction mode. I never did get the ratchet feature to work so I'm using the friction mode. Can't eliminate installer error tho'........All that being said these are ok shifters especially on a bike/trike you don't ride often. There is no sub for high quality but I would recommend the RH and the LH bar end shifters.;

I bought this to replace a Dura-ace that was falling apart after many years of use. This feels more robust and shifts perfectly.;

once you set it up that is which took me an hour then had to tension which was a bit hard without the tensioners built in;

This is my first bar end shifter and I’m a fan. Not as convenient as “brifters” but still intuitive and easy to use. Positive engagement and precise shifting. I’ve used down tube shifters quite a bit and they are very similar. Certainly a good value. Only way they could be better is if there was a friction only option. They also seem to be durable but only time will tell.;
