My boyfriend loves this new backpack!! It's a great small pack. Nice semi-rigid back with venting. Everything feels solid and durable. Nice small interior pocket with key leash perfect for all the small things in your pockets. Great helmet Storage. Perfect for a small day pack for cycling or hiking. Osprey's "All Mighty Guarantee" is pretty much a lifetime repair/replace warranty which adds to the the value of this bag. Would definitely recommend.;

Great day pack. Only gripe is I wish the main internal compartment had pockets or sleeves for storing things. It is just one big space which I have the tendency to just stuff things into.;

I have 3 other Osprey packs of varying sizes. An Osprey Manta 34 an Escapist 32 and a Farpoint 40 for travel. They all have their strengths. I've been using the Escapist 32 as a daypack and it serves that purpose well but it's more of a day to day use backpack. Good for bike commuting but doesn't have the structure to distribute a load for a longer day hike.

If I were to do a comparison I'd say that this Talon 22 is kind of a cross between the Manta 34 and the Escapist 32. It has more of a rigid internal frame and structure then the Escapist but not as robust as the frame and suspension of the Manta 34. And it's a little smaller than both. It's a perfect day hike pack. Not as technical as the Manta but slightly more technical than the Escapist.

The hip pockets are a decent size for such a small pack. They open and close easily with one hand compared to the hip pockets on the Escapist. That was surprising as this is a consistent criticism I have of my Osprey packs. The shoulder strap pouch is a nice idea but in practice too small for anything more than a granola bar definitely too small for a larger phone. I have a Galaxy A71 and it didn't even come close to fitting. Maybe for a flashlight?

The hip belt sits comfortably on your hips and takes the weight of the load off of your shoulders. The shoulder straps have load lifters to further customize the fit. The front shovel pocket is perfect for keeping things like a rain jacket or poncho handy.

The stow and go trekking pole attachment is another addition that my Manta has but the Escapist does not that is a welcome addition in this day pack. Another great feature that is common to all 3 packs is the separate water bladder sleeve that keeps the weight close to your center and also doesn't require you to get into your main pack to fill the pack.

I'm 5'11" with broad shoulders and a pretty big chest (46"). This pack feels small on my back compared to my other packs but this adjusts easily to distribute the load well. I'd go by Osprey's sizing guidelines. In my experience they are pretty on the money. One thing I did not note is that the straps are on an inner frame that uses velcro that you can slide up and down to further customize the fit. It's super adjustable.

It's fair to say that I'm a fan of Osprey and the Talon 22 just further reinforces that bias. Highly recommend.;

I was looking for a new backpack to use for our themepark visits since my previous Columbia pack had finally done itself in. I have heard great things about Osprey so I decided I wanted to give them a try. This pack was the perfect size to hold my rain gear water snacks and my wife's makup bag. Once adjusted properly it is a very comfortable pack. For the firt hour of wearing it it felt lopsided so I had to mess around with it for a bit to get it nice and square on my back. Once I did though I was very impressed with the feel and the way everything was distributed through the frame of the pack to my hips. The only reason for knocking a star is I wish there was at least 1 more small/med pocket on the bag. It has one small pocket on top the main compartment (with a mesh bag inside) and the stash pocket in front. It would be nice to separate the smaller makeup and snacks from the larger compartment otherwise they make their way to the bottom of the bag and we have to dig around to get to it.;

Was looking for a day pack with a good hip belt due to having my second back surgery. I found that in this pack. Plenty of room for a full day of supplies. Nice padded hip belt with pockets.
Definitely a step above your average day pack.
Slim design for fast travel down the trail.;
