Ich würde lieber etwas mehr bezahlen und dann etwas bekommen das langfristig hält und besser verarbeitet ist.;

... but it is manageable with practice and it is worth learning because the handlebars are a great spot to put my lock.
Another thing to note is that the mount should be installed as far to the center of the handlebar as possible at least if your bike is like mine where the handlebar gets narrower the further out you go. I had mine slip and had to relocate a reflector so I could fit this on.;

I just received this for my New York Fahgettaboudit Mini but the lock only barely fits. The velcro strap is not long enough and only has about 1/4" inch of velcro to use after wrapping around the lock head. There's no way to extend the strap. Furthermore the cradle seems intended for smaller-diameter lock heads. Even if you smoosh the lock head into the cradle there's still a gap.;

This is a nice mount for my Fahgettaboutit everybody thinks the yellow lock section above my handlebars is a can of mace that suits me too. STEP AWAY FROM THE BICYCLE.
I always follow installation instructions exactly why reinvent the wheel? But these were the worst ever after quite a bit of time trying to decipher the "cutting length" and "cutting guides" I finally had to toss the instructions and feel the force. It's not rocket science and all turned out well. And I am an old guy that worked in technical electrical electronic and mechanical jobs all my life. Kryptonite: you need to work on your manual editing. Oh and the official Kryptonite video to install this mount on youtube is no better a glossy regurgitation of the horrible written instructions. If you believe the relationship between the handlebar diameter and the length of the rubber shim are deserving of NASA style documentation then at least show it clearly on the video instead of breezing through a reiteration of what is obvious yet obscure in the written directions. Installers: the rubber shim should go around the handlebars when putting the clamp over it the 2 ends of the shim should meet and there should be no lumps overlaps with the rubber shim. ®
Wasn't that easy?;
