This is a high quality lock and it feels sturdy and solid. Easy to use and store by wrapping it around the frame or seat post. I am sure that it can be cut off by a determined thief but it should be adequate for causal daytime use in public places if your bike is not that expensive. I believe they offer a warranty of up to $500 if it is defeated and you file a police report.;

This is a terrific lock! We use this in daytime situations with our family's moderately priced bicycles and I have reasonably high confidence our bikes will still be there when returning from a meal or movie. Left out after dark or locked to a more attractive bike and you could have problems.

I like that this is a combination lock that anyone in the family can grab and use without having to ask around for the key -- and yet it's still beefy and off-putting to a thief.

As for defeating the lock by picking it the fact that there aren't a lot of these around and that turning the tumbler offers minimal tactile response makes me feel fairly confident thieves will look for a bike to steal with a more familiar smaller lock.

Problems with it? Yeah it's heavy as anything but that's also its strength.
