This is a very sturdy chain! Each link has about the same height and width of a credit card and the material is about half an inch thick! And the lock is just as strong. BUT! It is very heavy! I use it to lock down my motorcycle at night in front of my house I do not carry it on my motorcycle to use while I'm out and about it's simply too heavy.;
