microSHIFT Right Bar End Shifter, 12-Speed Mountain, Shimano Compatible

Overall, I'm pretty happy with Microshift's 12-speed bar end shifter. I had been running a Shimano 12-speed XT group on my flat-bar gravel bike and loved the shifting and gear range but wanted to switch to drop-bars. At the time of this review, Microshift is really the only solution. I've used bar-end shifters on and off going back to 3x8 drivetrains, so I have plenty of experience. I've used Microshift 10 and 11 speed bar-ends on other bikes and this 12 speed version seems identical in design and quality. It's well made, the action is smooth, and the friction is easy to adjust and stays where you set it.

My only minor complaint is that the indexing isn't quite as "crisp" as I would like. Shimano bar-ends are the gold standard for this with strong and precise indexing. The Microshift bar-ends aren't quite as precise and combined with 12-speed's shorter cable pull per stop, I sometimes get a slight over or under-shift. The shift always completes, but it will run noisy afterwords. A light pull/push on the lever quiets it right down, so it's certainly not a big issue but it is one area where there's a little room for improvement.;
