Tip is to look at short installation videos; this item is not a typical QR skewer - it is better. Easy to install and to tighten. Just do not overtighten. The skewer is a useful upgrade to a routine bicycle to stop rear wheel alignment from shifting.;

If you are running traditional skewers even expensive ones toss them and buy a set of these DT Swiss RWS skewers. All the clamping force of TA but the simplicity of skewers for keeping it all in one place. These clamp like nobodys business! If you bike suffers from loose stretched skewers this is the fix.;

Light weight clamps hard. Careful it’s easy to compress your bearings too much.;

I have a bicycle (Specialized TriCross) with 135mm rear spacing so naturally I bought a pair of these skewers: 100mm for the front and 135mm for the rear.

However when installed on the bike the rear skewer "grabs" only about 10mm of the thread in the skewer nut. The threaded hole in the skewer nut is about 15mm long and this skewer leaves about one-third of it unused. This makes it easier to strip the thread in the nut (which is kinda softish by itself) when tightening the skewer. This is what eventually happened in my case and one can also find numerous reports of it happening here and on the Net.

Meanwhile the front 100mm skewer is a perfect fit: the whole 15mm of the nut thread is used by the skewer axle: the tip of the skewer axle ends flush with the surface of the nut.

The rear skewer sold as "135mm" should be about 5mm longer! Considering that they also sell "130mm" version it makes one wonder if something got mislabeled and "130mm" version gets sold in place of "135mm" by mistake.

Other than that they do work and look nice. But remember to check how much of the skewer nut is being "grabbed" by the threaded end of the skewer axle. If you discover that the skewer is too short be very careful when tightening it. It becomes quite easy to strip.;

You can get this pretty tight compared to a regular lever skewer. I purchased this bc I needed extra tension bc it seems that my axle is moving inside my dropouts causing wear. This did not exactly help my issue but as a skewer itself it is quality and well designed.;
