I used this to a 2012 Trek Fuel Ex8. I upgraded the cassette to a SunRace 11-46T cassette and used a Shimano SLX SGS rear derailleur. When I noticed I had clearance issues, I bought this Goatlink and it solved my problem.;

I upgraded my sons bike from a 3x8 Shimano set up to a 1x10 Shimano Deore. This goat link 11 was needed for the 50T gear, as the one included on the derailleur was no enough offset/length. His bike shifts so smooth and is faster for sure. Great product!;
