Sunrace FC-R33 Crankset 170x52/42 2x7-Speed 107mm SQR JIS Silver

This is a great part with a slightly vintage polished alloy finish. Longevity is ok for alloy but the square taper interface will eventually stretch and need to be replaced in a few years if you do a whole lot of riding.;

I don't race but I like fast and smooth rides. I commute 18 mi a few times a week (whenever I possibly can). I replaced the old crankset on my 1980s steel road bike with this one. It feels *so solid* and smooth!! When I really push in high gear from a stop my old bike now reponds better than I ever thought it could! This is a pleasingly stiff and light crankset. The teeth are quiet and smooth rolling and forgiving enough to make friction shifting smooth as butter. Sorry I didn't weigh it and I don't count grams. It felt a lot lighter than my old crank but is much thicker. With the low price I paid for this crank I don't see why I would ever want to pay more for something else unless I needed more than 8 rear cogs for some reason (?).

I used a Shimano UN55 BB with 110 mm. In hindsight the 107 would have fit as well I was just trying to give myself more space. Others seem to recommend the 107 mm.;
