I only used the hub positioner to replace the original one that stripped. The old selector still worked and the grip was too difficult to remove.;

There are two shifters available for the Nexus 3sp hub on Amazon. This is the Revoshifter and there is another one with a silver top. Both use the same shifting mechanism at the wheel but the handlebar shifter is different. I would avoid the silver top and get this Revoshifter. It is a better quality shifter. I had the other one and the silver-top handlebar shifter literally fell apart in my hands after a couple months of use.

This Revoshifter feels more durable and shifts smoother than the other one ever did.;
