I was using wooden BBQ skewers as nipple loaders for awhile with some success but they would only last for so many nipples before the wood deformed and I had to use a new one. I had 3 wheel builds planned and wanted to make those as quick and smooth as possible so I got this tool and have no regrets. I wish I bought it sooner. Disassembly of a wheel is so much easier less risk of loosing a nipple in the rim. Assembly is easier for the same reason. Saved me so much time.

It had the added benefit of letting me dismantle a wheel that had square headed nipples without needing that specific square tool. I loosened all the spokes with a spoke wrench enough that I could then stick the loader into the head and unscrew it the rest of the way.;
