Shimano Deore SL-M8000-I Shift Lever - Right, 11-Speed, I-Spec II, Rapidfire Plus, Black

The small lever shifts in both directions which is nice. I did not notice that this particular shifter is designed to work with a compatible brake lever bracket so I had to make a bracket for it. It works fine. It is not quite as smooth as an SRAM but it shifts well with no skips even under load. I used it with compatible 8000 series derailleur (also from Amazon).;

I wanted an upgraded shifter from the SLX. Went with the XT. Problem is you cannot mount this to your bars if you don’t have XT or XTR brake levers. I ended up buying a stand alone clamp and mounted the shifter under the clamp with a long nut and screw. I have stand alone avid brake levers. Ridiculous that shimano doesn’t make this with a stand alone mount! The XT shifter works great if you can mount it!;

Had to buy something totally different to mount it at all. Couldn't build it until I figured that out. Haven't tried the shifter yet.;
