When it comes to adventurous riding, a wider gear range is often better. The ADVENT cassette has the low gears to get up and the high gears to get back down. Steps between gears are optimized to give an even spread between shifts, reducing the need for double-shifting to find the right gear.

  • 11-46T range with even gear steps for predictable gear changes
  • Hardened steel cogs are optimized for eBike compatibility
  • ED black with anodized surface finish
  • Continuously forged precision cogs

It looks and feels solid. The range is sufficient for my needs. The best thing I like about it is that it's quiet when it runs and shifts. Sunrace is the opposite of that.

I use this super-strong cassette on a BBSHD-electrified cargo bike and an electric street bike also assisted by a BBSHD. Both bikes use 14S/52v batteries so PLENTY of power is capable of coursing through that chain to the back cluster. The recipe for long drivetrain life with such a system includes a very strong steel rear cluster and this Advent steel version looks almost like it was developed specifically for a mid drive ebike.

- No spiders. The cogs are 1-piece steel
- The cassette is pinned together in many places all the way up into the big cogs. making it a 1-piece unit.

1-piece cassettes are the best for electric-assist bikes because the force being applied to the cluster is distributed across the entire cassette body rather than it all being applied to a single independent cog. That means good things for the parts underneath that are next in line to take a beating.

On the two bikes that use this cluster one is a Microshift Advent long cage derailleur (the mid-cage will work too) and the other uses a Box Components Box Two derailleur. This cassette will work just fine with any 9-speed derailleur regardless of brand so long as that derailleur can fit a 46T big cog..;

I have been using the 11-42 version and bought this to add gear range to my Fat Bike set up. Background-got a Ritchey Commando Fatbike frame/fork and wanted an affordable build as this is solely just a whim buy/unneeded bike to ride when trails are muddy. Well The metal upgraded thumbshift Advent shifters with the Advent deraileur and the cassette are just AMAZING! I actually LOVE the large teeth jumps for the riding that I do in the Southeast US-making ONE shift beats making 3-4 shifts to have a DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT USEABLE GEAR! Yeah if I was riding in a road team time trial I would NOT want these jumps but for roller coaster Southeast US terrain the big jumps are actually beneficial! Microshift I am AMAZED! I expected something like 'okay shifting for the price' or 'good value' but as a guy who is used to Chorus XTR and Dura Ace shifting-I say INCREDIBLE! I am going to put Microshift 9 speed on my MTB and Touring travel bikes and make them 1x9s rather than the current 2x11s for less fussy more practical gearing for traveling.
