I'm happy to say this shift well even with my old-school Deore XT 9 speed derailleur (running with a 42t 1x9 set up). However I am getting a lot of chain suck which I think is due to the fact this is almost 200 grams heavier then the 11-34 Shimano cassette I replaced it with. This is probably also due to the fact I'm running an older derailleur but I didn't have the chain suck issue with the previous cassette. Just something to keep in mind for any old project bikes.
