I don't think this item was intended for DIY carriers or modding but as others have mentioned it'll work if you buy two. It's not a super easy process so I'd only suggest doing that if you like projects. I also ended up needing longer screws than what it came with so that was an additional couple of bucks. I used press board on the bottom of a milk crate so I could screw on either side of it and then pieces of scrap wood that slide on the other side of the rail on the bike rack (also helps it sit flat when I set it down). I've got about 15 miles of carrying and it's very sturdy.;

It’s a clever system but if the bike falls over which happens occasionally in my world the plastic guides break. Then I have to replace the entire thing. It’s not difficult but it costs $15+ and the whole rack is useless in the meantime. It’s happened twice in ~3 years. This time I bought two so I have an extra at the ready. I’d pay more for one that is sturdier- perhaps made of metal like the bike rack and basket that the Fixer 6 connects!;

This worked well for a while but treat gently as it breaks easily.;

I bought this to fix a rattan basket on the rear rack. While waiting for Taobao to deliver the plastic rattan lookalike basket I am using an Amazon box as a stopgap solution. The box is covered with cheap wallpaper from Taobao. Great thing I tried the fixer on the box as I forgot this was meant for the Topeak basket which expects an incline on the side. I use velcro to hold the side that clips to the Topeak rack. I have used this on light trail and it has held up well so far.;

I am glad that Topeak has this thing available. This is where they are making money at least off of me. I wish they had economy packs! The basket costs $50 to $60 and this thing is about $15 and is easier to ship. I have minor accidents the basket gets bumped and so forth. It could be more durable but anything else might get a whole lot worse. I suppose this bracket yields by breaking before something else gets damaged and that might be a positive. In winter it does get brittle. I do like to be able to move my basket from bike to bike or not have the basket on at all so I put up with this arrangement/system. I keep a spare for replacement which occurs unplanned every several months. If they stop making this I will just go to a milk create like everyone else.;
