The Fidlock TWIST 590 includes the Bike Base for mounting to standard braze ons. The Fidlock bottle is guided into place and snaps securely on the mount. The bottle is held with a combination magnetic/mechanical retention system that releases with a simple twist of the bottle. The 590ml bottle has a high flow valve that is self-sealing and leakproof, with a removable dirt cover, so the mouthpiece stays clean out on the trail.

  • Ergonomic design for a more intuitive snapping on and off TWIST base
  • Leak-proof, self-sealing bottle cap with a high flow valve plus an optional dirt cover
  • Soft, BPA-free polyethylene bottle is dishwasher safe

I ride some rough trails here in phoenix and to my amazement this water bottle has managed to stay onboard during my rides. I'm pretty impressed.;

I do lots of jumps and intense rides on my MTB and this thing hasn't fallen off. Also easy to slide out when needed.

Works well as a bottle. It’s squeezable and it has the same capacity as normal Cycling bottles. Two major problems:

1. It’s got a heart valve style spout that tends to collect dirt. This is the right kind of valve but it needs to be redesigned. Fidlock apparently understands this and put this really stupid flip top cover on it. That needs to go.

2. Redesign the cap so it accepts the same threading as most other bottles like Specialized Purist of Camelback. That way you could substitute better spouts or at least swap them in from all the other bottles you have when you break one.

Other than that this is the best note that Fidlock makes. There’s supposedly an 800ml version coming and if so this and that one would make a good pair.;

I was dubious of this design but now that I've had it a few month I love it. I was under the impression it was only magnets holding it in but it also has a clever mechanism so it's much stronger than just the magnets. I feel it's more secure than a cage even. I've wrecked many times and purposefully tried to disengage it and I've not been able to do it once. I can't even get it to pop out with my knee when I try.

At first I had a hard time finding the right alignment to snap back in while riding but my body quickly learned. So just like it's no longer difficult to snap into my clip-less bindings so too this just becomes natural after a few hours of riding. I actually find it easier than a cage now to re-attach. One just needs to just hover around the area and the magnets will pick it up.

The valve cover is pointed the wrong way for me. When I pull the bottle off with my right hand I want to flip it up with my thumb as flipping it with my index finger is awkward and it flips back towards my face. But I don't ride in much mud and found that it was simple to remove without damage.

I think it woudl be good for tight frames. My frame is an XL and the design is such I have much space on the down tube. But some bikes are more cramped and I could see one could put on an strap on base where one normally couldn't fir a bottle cage.

The bottle is soft and the heart-valve works great for a powerful blast of water. Also being soft when banging about it flexes reducing the shock load on the attachment mechanism. I think this contributes to its resistance to getting bumped off.

The binding plate on the bottle is removeable so if need be one can replace just the bottle.

I was able to mount a Topeak pump under it on the left using the same cage holes. It doesn't interfere as the bottle twists out to the right. In fact it helps guide it.;
