Purchased this to upgrade my older Rockshox XC32 TK 100mm travel coil spring shock to an air shock. The XC32 was the forerunner to the Recon Silver and is essentially the same. Install is easy and straight forward and it works great. Probably about a net 300 gram weight savings but I did not weigh the solo air shock before install so I don't know the weight difference for sure. As others have said when swapping out the coil spring assembly there is a bushing at the bottom of the upper tube of the fork. This must be removed as the new air shock already has this bushing installed on the shaft (you can see it in the pictures). To remove it place a flat head screwdriver on bushing near the hole in the center for the coil spring assembly. Lightly tap upwards on the bushing and it will release from the seat. Then carefully push the bushing up and out of the top of the fork tube using a wooden dowl or piece of 1/2 pvc pipe. Do not try to push the bushing out of the bottom of the fork tube as it will not go and you will damage the fork trying to do so.
I am very pleased with the upgrade and thankfully I am now able to adjust the fork to my desired compression setting based on trail conditions.;

I used this air spring internal to upgrade an older XC 32 spring fork to air. It was was totally plug and play no modification required. It's now so much easier to tune.;
