I've been a Sram fan boy for my entire MTB career (save for avid brakes) and for good reason their products just simply work. I've worked on loads of Shimano components and they seem to always need some sort of attention here or there. Sure Sram might be a little more expensive but in my opinion is well worth it. Sram has clearly defined product categories and noticeable steps in improvement through out the product line. You know exactly what you're getting and don't have to deal with M's 1000's or other mysteriously named symbols like Shimano. I will suggest getting the GX trigger over the NX as it feels and clicks just a little bit better than NX also the Match maker is a huge plus if you have Sram Brakes.;
