Garmin Instinct 2S Solar GPS Smartwatch - 40mm, Mist Gray

Great device. Every feature works to the T besides the Barometer due to the sensor being agints your skin. It throws it off to the point I just have it off. This device does a great job when I am out exploring and I want to throw waypoints down for features like water supply where I parked campsite possible hunting spots and etc. Use this was the Explore App and you'll be able to make routes that will be sent to the watch and you'll be able to see the trail on the display. I just bought the InRead Explore Plus but won't receive it till this Friday. This device syncs with your phone InReach Xerox and VIB.;

Really great watch. Bought to replace a Vivoactive HR that still works. The Android App updated with the new watch to a slightly better looking display. Took about a week for the body battery to calibrate to me and give relevant data. Sleep shows an additional REM sleep band. (Deep Light REM). Instructions were pretty much nonexistent other than getting started. Go to YouTube lots there. Pretty intuitive once you figure out the scheme it follows. I can see the face with minimal illumination at night wo turning on the backlight. I'm quite pleased. The charging cord appears to be consistent with other Garmin cords and is proprietary. The HR had a cord unique to it only. I found an aftermarket charging stand on Amazon that works well for under $10. Watch continues to display time etc. while charging which the HR did not.;

At first glance this watch reminds of the old Casio G-Shock watches. Raised bezel push buttons along the edges mono chrome display. It hides so much more. I've used this watch for a few seasons now and have really come to like this watch. If you are looking for the latest and greatest color touch screen with swipe controls this isn't the watch for you. I've owned a lot of smartwatches some were great in their own way but they all had the same problem...battery life. This watch is fully smart-capable and backed by Garmin's fitness-centered watch app. The screen is mono chrome no color. In bright sunlight it won't wash out in fact it gets easier to read the brighter out it is. The face is customizable to a degree with different data areas to display time sunrise/sunset battery life date etc. The five buttons along the sides take a little learning but once you get it it's easy to navigate the functions of the watch. Some have complained about the buttons being too easy to accidently push but I haven't had that issue. It's much more of an outdoor watch than anything else. It has built in GPS and you can use it to track a route without the use of an app. It has a barometer and compass. It will give you all the notifications a normal smartwatch would do. There is a heart rate and blood ox sensors as well and all the usual fitness tracking. The biggest draw to this watch may be the solar charging though. With enough daily sunlight the watch could stay charged indefinitely. During the Winter months I have found that around 20 days or so of battery life can be expected.
Its not for everyone but if you don't need to see pics on the screen or built-in music this is pretty dang good watch for outdoor adventure. It won't fit in at any formal events but it didn't want to be there anyway....;

I bought this watch for my husband and he loves it! I'm jealous because the battery of my smartwatch does not last as much as the Garmin's. I'd buy this watch again!;
